Otani in Hudson

Lo Mein was too salty and mushroom was not cooked. Noodle was over cooked for Vietnamese noodle and rice in the spicy tuna roll wasn’t fresh.

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday dinner, and the entire night was fantastic. We were the only ones there, but the hibachi chef was still amicable and so interactive. The entire staff was prompt, professional, and accommodating. After our dinner, our waitress brought us plates and a knife because we had a cookie cake with us. After that, she brought me an ice cream dessert with a candle! I was so pleased and surprised. I can't say enough about the night. Oh, and the food was absolutely delicious, too!

We ordered hibachi to the table because it was Christmas day and there were 18 people in a room with only one cook, which I understand. Our waiter was very new and could hardly speak English but he did OK. I ordered the hibachi scallops and shrimp and my husband got the chicken and scallops. It was very good and very well cooked. Will go again.

So we made a custom roll and they were very accommodating on it. The atmosphere is very chill and perfect for a place to talk and enjoy food and drinks. The service tonight was great, the right amount of attentiveness without feeling pressured. When I'm in town I usually try to visit on Friday's and soak it in with my friends.

We have been searching for a Japanese Hibachi since our favorite place closed five years ago. We've visited Otanis four times now and have decided it is consistently the best in the area including Akron, Canton, and Cleveland. The hibachi chefs are all skilled and the food is excellent. Everyone is kind and make us feel welcome and comfortable. We agree our search for the best has finally ended.

Best sushi, hibachi and kitchen cooking you can get. Related to but I prefer better than Mayfield Heights location. The staff in Hudson are friendly and it has a nice atmosphere. Prices are very comparable to other sushi, Japanese establishments. The sushi quality is top notch! Stop by and say hi to Wendy, Sam and Yen!! You won't be disappointed.

Otani serves Chinese food, Japanese food, and Sushi. Otani greeters greeted us with big smiles and made us feel welcomed . This restaurant does not look large from the outside but has 2 sides of the restaurant you can choose to sit. Bar seating or table seating. The table seating side also has 2 hibachi grills . We sat at the hibachi grill. Our cook was up beat, hilarious and nice. Food was good. Almost forgot to tell you they have a large party room with hibachi grill too. Can seat up to 20 peopele but my opinion is 15 to give you room. Will go again !!!!

Very limited and overpriced menu. Appetizers were meh. Entrees were good. But service was an utter failure, we were ignored in favor of a party and a hibachi table. And they were not understaffed, we saw no less than 3 waiters standing around the server aisle and talking. Am not going back.

Kind staff and beautiful atmosphere, when you walk in and you are greeted you know you will have a good experience from the warmth the staff gives off. I had one of the best specialty rolls I've ever had here and a great bowl of ramen. The waitress was very personable and I noticed the staff had built strong relationships with many return customers.

It was my first time there. We went for a birthday. I got the otani hibachi which was fantastic! We also got sushi.... the sushi was made to perfection we all got the crab stick, the volcano roll, the Hudson roll which was yummy, the cucumber roll, the Morgan, dynamite roll, the white sauce was really good also

Nice Japanese restaurant nestled away in a strip mall near Akron / Stow / Cuyahoga Falls. Food options include both flaming hibachi tables as well as sushi / sashimi. Has an attached bar with a wide selection of local and not so local beers. Definitely recommended if you're looking for food options in the area.

The food as always was EXCELLENT. However, I had to call Otani's phone just to get someone to take my money for my take out order. Very disappointed, but just with service. There were 7 people total in the restaurant other than at the hibachi table. No bartender, no server. Only the Sushi master.

This place constantly delivers. They have good dishes for fair rates, there is no waiting time even when the spot is loaded.

I know I should know better than ordering Pad Thai from a Japanese restaurant but it's on the menu and I wanted it... Normally a traditional recipe has noodles, chicken, shrimp, and some sprouts along with other items. I'm not sure what recipe they have but it was a pound of bean sprouts, a bit of noodles, 3 quarters of one shrimp, and enough chicken for a mouse.

Food was so good. They had a great menu to choose from. It took a little long to get our food so if your hoping to get lunch there I'd plan for more than an hour.

Service was really slow. I think that may have a lot of online order that made dine in service quite slow. Food was good but very expressive for sushi around this area.

I spent a Saturday evening in the pub. There was live music and a great crowd. The sushi roll was huge and the food quality matched the price. I definitely will be going back again.

If you're coming here for hibachi, and want to sit at the grill, make sure to make a reservation. They were not busy, but unable to accommodate a party of 6 at the only grill they have. You have to request beverage refills. However, the sushi was delicious and large portions.

Great food great value/service/ atmosphere

I enjoyed my udon soup in this restaurant, very nice place, it's clean and the service is quick. My husband also had a soup and some sushi which was very tasty 😋. We will definitely be going back to this place.

Incredibly good, had a small mess up on my order. They quickly replaced it and even brought out some edamame while I waited. Very satisfied, our waiter was also very nice.

My new favorite Japanese restaurant in the area. The hibachi is pretty standard, but the sushi is great. Beyond good, fresh sushi, they have some noodle bowls that are amazing. Styling is upscale, but pricing is mostly reasonable. The place is hit or miss with either being packed or empty.

Best sushi around! Casual atmosphere and usually not busy at all. The sushi is fresh and by far the best I’ve had in the Akron area. Other food options are solid as well. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly and most have been there for years and know us personally (though we only get the chance to come once or twice a year anymore)

I prefer the golden gate otanis on Mayfield. This was a little odd friendly fine tasting but I have too much history at golden gate otanis. Even if the carpet should have been replaced years ago on the hibachi side

The food was great. Froze our butt off. When we complained about how cold it was in the restaurant the waitress just told us " well it's cold outside " . We were seated well within the restaurant by a window that was drafty like the window wasn't even there. We were also told there was no manager there. Her arrogance about it was as cold as the weather was outside.

This is our favorite for sushi. The owners and staff are absolutely amazing and always friendly.

I honestly don't know how this place is still in business. Number one we waited forever to get our appetizers. Which after that my girlfriend finally got her drink. This is 40 min in so far mind you. The reason being is our waitress seemed to be the only person there. She was also the hostess. The salad that we ordered was basically cheap iceberg with mayo on top. No flavor. Basically to sum this place up, way over priced and poorly executed. Save yourself the money and go to pacfic east in kent. We walked out. Stay away!!!

Love the variety! They have a restaurant and bar - we normally sit on the restaurant side because it's more peaceful, but the bar looks fun too. There are a wide variety of dishes and I know most of the food is not cooked with peanuts or in peanut oil (which is something people with allergies may fear). The staff is also super friendly. Our waitress came back multiple times to check on us.

First time for lunch. I ate at the sushi bar and it was excellent. They forgot my salad - I did too, until I left! Oh well. Next time.

Food was delicious and I got a chocolate covered strawberry for dessert!

Excellent service, there was live music, the bar tend was exceptional and very personable. I will definitely recommend giving this restaurant a try if you like happy atmosphere and tasty cuisine! Cannot speak to the authenticity.

Great experience especially for the kids

We went here for the Ramen. Long story short, it's Udon and not Ramen. They use thin noodles (firm and delicious), the broth had wonderful flavor but it's vegetable soup not true ramen. The beef was wonderful! My husband had the sushi. It was good but a bit warm.If you don't have time to drive to Cleveland and want ramen, this is a good choice but tell them you just want the broth, beef and noodles. The only thing missing is the soft boiled egg. They may offer it, I'm not sure.

Wonderful service and delicious food! Definitely our new date spot when we are near Hudson.

Good environment. Poor food quality. Some of the fried rice I oredered was still cold...

Service so slow. Wait for nearly an hour and food has not bring out.
